On that note, Kukreja says, “There is no scientific evidence that gluten-containing foods cause more weight gain than other foods. So don’t cut chapatis out of your diet to lose weight.”

“Bananas are actually good for weight loss as they contain a good amount of fiber which slows down digestion. Research has found that increasing fiber intake can reduce the risk of weight gain by up to 30% Eat one banana a day as part of a healthy diet for weight loss,” she advises.


Suggesting a controlled intake of mangoes, she notes, “Phytochemicals present in mangoes have been proven to suppress fat-producing cells. Mango is also high in calories, but it is also high in dietary fiber and water, which promote digestive health. Thus, keep mangoes under partial control.”
