Kevin Durant ‘stunned’ to find out about mentor Steve Nash’s exit

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant said he was “stunned” when he discovered that Steve Nash was out as lead trainer, a choice that was declared on Tuesday.

Nash’s exit was shared, as per the Nets.

“You’re constantly stunned when a move like this occurs,” Durant said after a 108-99 misfortune to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.

“However, it’s typical in the NBA. It’s tied in with preparing for the game this evening. It’s a fast turn generally in the association, particularly during the season. You have practice, games coming up, so you can’t ponder it. It was at the forefront of my thoughts for a tad today,” he said, as revealed by abc news.

Nets senior supervisor Sean Imprints said before the game that no players were counseled before the choice, which is striking, considering that Durant apparently requested Nash and Imprints to be terminated over the mid year.

Durant had purportedly fostered a strong relationship with Nash during their experience with the Brilliant State Champions, when Nash filled in as a player improvement specialist. He was inquired as to why he felt it didn’t turn out for Nash in Brooklyn.

“A great deal of stuff,” Durant said. “We didn’t have a solid group. We simply didn’t play well. Also, that occurs in the association. S — occurs. That doesn’t detract from Steve’s ball intelligence level, how he shows the game. I don’t feel that detracts from anything. It simply didn’t end up actually working.”

Hours subsequent to leaving behind mentor Nash, The Nets lost for the 6th time in eight games this season. Zach LaVine scored 20 of his season-high 29 focuses in the final quarter as the Bulls energized down the stretch for a triumph.

Durant drove all scorers with 32 focuses to oblige nine bounce back and six helps. Royce O’Neale added 20 focuses. Kyrie Irving was held to four focuses on 2-of-12 shooting and didn’t score until from the get-go in the fourth
