TJ Hockenson makes a great start for the Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings traded extensively on Tuesday’s time frame when they took on T.J. Hawkenson. The move was both a win-now move and a long-term game.
At the start of the week, it was expected that Hockenson would be ready to go full force against the Buffalo Bills next week, but he gave him momentum.
He said on the broadcast that former Detroit Lions and current Vikings practice squad quarterback David Blow helped speed up Hockenson. He had to work that night at 10 o’clock and did it on Sunday.
Hockenson was targeted nine times against commanders. He caught them all and got 70 yards, including six first down catches. It was the Vikings’ best tight end performance since 2018.
He was great not only at running but also at the game through the air. He helped open the hole for Dalvin Cook and was an inline threat with the ability to block the Vikings for this offense.
It was great for Hockenson as well. The Detroit Lions won six games in their rookie season and never finished on top. Now, Hekensen is in a team with seven wins in their first eight matches.
After being with the team for five full days, think with this kind of performance how good he will be after continuous practice.
